WELCOME TO HATFIELD TOWN COUNCIL

Hatfield Town Council is situated in Doncaster Metropolitan Borough Council’s area. The Parish Council was established in 1894 which later became the Town Council in 1993. The population is approximately 17000 and there are 12000 electors. The Town Council is divided into four Wards—Hatfield, Hatfield Woodhouse, Dunscroft and Dunsville represented by 14 elected Councillors.

Meetings

The full Town Council meets on the second Monday of every month, except August. The Policy & Resources Committee and Burial & Recreation Committee meet on two or three occasions per year, with other Committees as and when required.

In addition to the Town Clerk (part-time) and Deputy Town Clerk (part-time), there is a full time Cemetery Supervisor and two Grounds Assistants. The offices on Cuckoo Lane are open to the public between the hours of 10.00 a.m. and 2.00 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

Apart from the Council Offices, the Town Council owns the Cemetery on Cemetery Road, Hatfield. It also either owns or leases nine recreation grounds, including Jubilee Park and Dr Waters Gardens. All the above are maintained by Hatfield Town Council.

In April of each year the Town Council gives out grants to local organisations, including scouts, guides, playgroups etc. Those applications not received in time for the April meeting are carried to the October meeting of the Council, for approval.
